Finally!

After 2 months of hard work we have completed our family room. We started the week before Christmas and finished this week. We sheet-rocked the walls and ceiling, textured the ceiling, painted, fixed the fans, widened the door entrance, put up new trim and base boards, covered the couch, put in all new outlets and covers, and tomorrow I need to put up the new blinds and curtains. We LOVE the new room. It seems so much bigger, lighter and just more fun to be in. We learned a lot about how to remodel and some do’s and don’ts like always wear a mask when sanding sheet rock(Derek had a hacking cough for a week because of all the dust) smooth ceilings are highly over rated just texture it, it saves a lot of heart ache, sheet rock is edible (just ask Siesa she will tell you), the more power tools the better (thanks Eric), it is very nice to have someone who knows a lot to help (once again Thanks Eric), there are many more colors in our world than white and eggshell (like tea leaf green, love it!), it always takes more time than you thought, (we thought we could do our “little” project in 3 weeks? Yeah right), and some things look better from a distance and that is OK.

Now on to the guest bedroom! Yippee!

Before (I know, it was ugly)

So I thought I was leaving that under Jensen's picture, but I wanted to comment on your living room too - it looks awesome. You and the Kimi are making me really jealous I don't have a home, but I"m actually not as creative as either of you, so I'll admire your work from afar. It looks great!

You guys did an amazing job!! I am so impressed, what a transition. It totally updates the room, makes it seem so much more inviting, and (like you said) looks so much bigger!! Good job!
