Our month

Puppet Show

We went to a puppet show at the library and Jensen was inspired. For the next few days after seeing the puppet show we made puppets to do our own. We did the story of the very hungry caterpillar by Eric Carl. We used a slinky and fabric to make the caterpillar and then foam and paper for everything else. We recorded Jensen reading the story and the kids did the puppets. I did hand them to Siesa so they would be in the right order. Jensen was so proud of the puppet show that he wanted his friends to see it so last week we made some cookies and banana bread and invited some of his friends to come and watch it

"I’m Singin’ in the Rain”

This week my kids have especially loved to play in the rain and the rain barrels. I am often surprised how different my kids are in personality and these pictures are a great example. For the record I didn’t take off Siesa’s clothes or rain jacket but I did make her leave her underwear on.

Swimming

We have been swimming once or twice a week all summer. One day after Siesa saw one of our friends jump off the diving board she wanted to try it too. I was actually shocked when she marched up on the diving board and walked out to the end, she hesitated and wanted me help her or catch her and I told her, no, if she wanted to jump she could go ahead, she looked at me and jumped. Yet another example of how different my kids are I can’t get Jensen to even put his face in the water.

Counting

One cute thing we laugh about is how Siesa counts. “1,2,6,8,1,5” that is always the order

Those rain pictures are the best. I wish that I had a backyard. It is funny how different your kids are. It's fun to see it. The picture of Siesa with her head back, soaking wet, huge smile is totally priceless summer memory captured forever. Good work!

That is such a cute play your kids did. We need to get together soon, it's been too long since the kiddies have played together.
